Baixo Alentejo is a Portuguese NUTS III statistical sub-region, part of the Alentejo Region and the District of Beja. It borders the Alentejo Central to the north, Spain to the east, the Algarve to the south and the Alentejo Litoral to the west. It has an area of 8,505 km² and an estimated population of 126,692 inhabitants (2011) This project aims to disseminate traditional Alentejo music around the world.
